A library is an essential element in a school and education. Unfortunately too many schools still do not have a proper library facility and even more many schools don’t have the library facility at all especially those public schools with limited funding.
Since we started our activities in 2003 Kinar Pustaka Foundation and its sister foundation, Padi Pratama foundation have built / renovated over 124 libraries in Public Primary schools and secondary schools located in Jakarta Tangerang Bekasi & Kerawang (JABOTABEK), Sidoarjo (East Java), Padang (West Sumatera), Jogyakarta (Central Java) and Bali, together with her partners. Once finished and operational the libraries are returned back as the school’s facility and run under the school Principal’s supervision
School Selection
We conduct direct survey in selecting the schools to decide which schools is most appropriate to have our assistance program. We either renovate an existing building or structure or build a new structure in the school property, then we decorate with library furniture and fill with books.
Our Library Books
Our books are carefully selected by our team to provide not only academic but also general information about day to day life.
We purchase our new books from Gramedia book store at a discounted price. Our foundation formed a partnership has a long term relationship with Gramedia group, the leading publishing and book stores company in Indonesia. Gramedia group shares the same ideology to educate our young children through reading books.
