WIJABA - The World is Just a Book Away Foundation

It started with a simple discussion at Starbucks coffee in Brentwood, LA back in 2009, between our co-founder Andru Subowo and
Prof. James Owens from USC (University of Southern California) Prof James Owens was fascinated with the school & library
program in Indonesia and he committed to donate the proceed from the book he was writing at the time to build libraries in Indonesia.

Prof. Owens through Kinar Pustaka Foundation subsidiary YAYASAN PADI PRATAMA Foundation created WIJABA (World is Just A Book
Away) Foundation, and together with a collaboration of WIJABA, AUSCI (Alumni USC Indonesia) and our subsidiary foundation
Padi Pratama foundation we raised funding and built our initial 12 libraries in Sidoarjo, East Java.

Since then WIJABA has been in partnership with Padi Pratama Foundation to build more libraries in Indonesia truly and example on
how Prof. Owens’ vision and relentless passion to help the children of Indonesia has made a tremendous impact on the society.

His book was published in 2018 A fascinating book of his interviews with very remarkable people including Jane Goodall the
Chimpanzee lady
